Sustainability & Innovation

We will do our part to contribute for a better quality of life by creating economic, social, and environmental value for sustainable growth and development.

Working together for one sustainable future

“Sustainability”, means staying consistent over the long term, has become a new way to develop the world.  The meaning of sustainability is finding a way to meet our human needs while thinking about the future of the world and future generations both in terms of natural resources, human resources, and social resources so that the world still has the ability to survive in the future.

Therefore, organizations that have goals for developing a sustainable organization must have a far-sighted vision. Think of doing something that is not just a short-term expectation, but it lays a strong foundation for the organization to grow in the long term. There should be a far-sighted plan as well as people in the organization to cooperate in driving the organization including society in an excellent direction. It also encourages the organization to grow and move forward relentlessly.

Thus “Sustainability” is a development approach to which modern humanity must adhere in order to maintain a livable world for future generations and forever.

The way to do business in the modern world is based on the fact that business operations take place in the world, interact with the environment and society, not stand alone without affecting the outside world. If it is possible to limit the impact, create a balance in coexistence with the environment and society, it should be likely that the company will survive and have the ability to generate long-term profits.  In addition to the two traditionally measured factors, profit and risk management, which are indicators of short-term leverage; Environment, Social and corporate Governance (ESG) are therefore needed to measure the ability to conduct business that generates sustainable long-term benefits for a company.

ESG is a sustainable corporate development concept, which stands for Environment, Social, and Governance.  It will focus on doing business responsible in 3 main areas: Environment, Social and Governance. Environment is a criterion that takes into account the company’s responsibility to the environment. Social is a criterion that measures how a company manages relationships and communicates with employees, suppliers, customers or stakeholders. Governance is a principle used to measure how a company is regulated for efficient, transparent, verifiable management and taking into account stakeholders. The ESG concept helps build credibility for businesses by reflecting the roles and responsibilities of the business towards the stakeholders and presentation of the results of business development for sustainable growth.

OUR INNOVATION

Oriental Copper has done extensive research, replacing the multiple-jointed straight busbars connecting the main ACB to the main horizontal busbars, with an innovative Twist Bar (with a Torsional Bend). Both types of switchboards (Conventional multiple-jointed straight busbars and innovative Twist Bar) underwent a Temperature Rise Test and Short Circuit Test according to the IEC-60439-1 Standard at TCA (Testing & Certification Australia). The test results showed superiority of OC-ETP Twist Bar over the Conventional Busbar for the reduction of heat in the busbar system (Less temperature rise) and less movement of busbars when subjected to short circuit fault. These tests have been certified by ASTA in 2008.

At the same time
Profile Bar and Non-Welded Edgewise Elbow had been developed by similar innovative principles to reduce energy losses in Busduct System.
